I engage in therapy for couples and families that is rooted in object relations and family systems theory. This provides a profound framework for understanding and transforming relational dynamics. Object relations theory emphasizes the impact of early relational experiences and internalized patterns on current interactions, helping couples and family members identify unconscious projections, unmet needs, and attachment wounds that shape their relationships. Family systems theory complements this by viewing the family as an interconnected whole, where individual behaviors are influenced by systemic dynamics such as roles, boundaries, and patterns of communication. Through these dynamic approaches, therapy facilitates deeper insight into how past and present relationships intersect, cultivating healthier connections and repairing ruptures. By addressing both the individual psyche and the family system, this approach empowers couples and families to create secure, supportive, and emotionally fulfilling relationships, paving the way for collective growth and resilience.
