I come from a fitness and wellness background where I have supported clients in achieving personal well-being for going on 20 years. My professional journey has spanned both private practice and large clinical settings, including academia, allowing me to integrate diverse perspectives into my work. As a mental health professional, I intend to provide clients with the most comprehensive and compassionate care.
As a doctoral candidate, my research explores the spiritual and existential dimensions of grief through the lens of object relations theory and the dual process model of grief, utilizing a phenomenological methodology. This work reflects my commitment to understanding the profound intersections between psyche, relationships, and spirituality.
Beyond my doctoral research, I am a scholar of history and philosophy with specialized training in object relations therapy and psychoanalysis. These disciplines inform my approach, emphasizing the importance of exploring unconscious processes, relational patterns, and the deeper meanings that guide personal and collective healing. My aim is to create a therapeutic space that nurtures growth, resilience, and the rediscovery of purpose.

History of women in object relations; Historical implications of grief
My research interests lie at the intersection of existentialism, spirituality, and psychoanalysis, with a focus on the profound impact of grief and death within families. I am particularly drawn to exploring existential and spiritual needs in family grief, as well as the role of object relations in shaping individual and collective responses to loss and bereavement. By examining contemporary death research through an existential lens, I aim to deepen the understanding of how individuals navigate the complexities of mortality and meaning. Additionally, my work integrates historical and philosophical perspectives, investigating their implications within psychoanalysis, object relations, and family systems theory. My broader intellectual pursuits include American intellectual history, particularly during the Cold War, and the history of philosophy, with a specific focus on the 17th-century Enlightenment and the works of RenΓ© Descartes. This exploration provides a rich context for understanding the foundations of modern thought and their influence on psychological frameworks and human experience.
