My intention is to provide a supportive space where clients feel safe, heard, and understood. As a licensed marriage and family therapist, I am trained to work with diverse family backgrounds and multiple age groups. My specialties include life transitions, existential crisis, spirituality, family conflict/relationship concerns, self-esteem, coping, emotional distress, marital therapy, as well as depression and grief.
In this supportive space, my role is to gently guide as a way to uncover what may be unconscious, repressed, misunderstood, or possibly difficult to talk about. Sometimes this involves interventions where a client can engage multiple areas of their mind in order to bring about a sense of release and restoration.
Counseling Philosophy
I believe that when clients are in tune with their sense of purpose, they merely need some gentle guidance to fulfill their needs and dreams in life. Thus, I take a person-centered psychodynamic approach to allow the client an open space to truly unfold and awaken to their potential through insight and intention setting.
Therapy of Self and Relational Transformation
In therapy, clients come to face their own inner thoughts and feelings about who they are and how their perceptions have been influenced by others and the world around them. These insights provide structure in understanding what areas are essential to focus on. Over time, clients naturally become inclined to make any necessary changes in their lives. In this process, restoration of harmonious relationships can occur, and unsettling conditions begin to transform and heal.
